Engraved or insert-based: frequency decides
If the information never changes (the name of a room, that of a permanent committee member), engraving gives the cleanest result and does not fade. If it changes at every event, the insert holder is the obvious choice: you print your own labels and slide them in, indefinitely. The maths works out as soon as you run more than two or three events a year.
