1. Material: based on your image and your use
Metal (brushed aluminium, silver or gold) remains the benchmark in hospitality and in any customer-facing role: it ages well, resists scratches and looks premium. Acrylic is lighter and more economical, ideal for large teams or high staff turnover. Natural wood suits businesses with a warm or environmentally conscious positioning; every piece has its own grain.
2. Fastening: magnet, pin or clip?
This is the question we are asked most. A magnet does not pierce the fabric, which makes it the only acceptable option on a quality uniform, a tailored jacket or a silk blouse. It goes on and comes off in a second. A pin brooch holds better during physical work and costs less. A clip attaches to a pocket or collar and suits badges shared between several people; the 360° clip swivels so the badge stays readable whatever the wearer is doing.
One useful warning: magnets are not recommended for anyone with a pacemaker. In larger teams, order a few pin-fastened badges as a complement.
3. Personalisation: engraved or interchangeable?
Name, first name, job title, logo: our badges are engraved or printed, depending on the material and the result you are after.
An engraved badge is permanent: the name is part of the plate, the finish is the cleanest, and it is the right choice for a stable team. A badge with an insert window lets you change the label in seconds: unbeatable for interns, seasonal staff, temporary workers or conferences. Many of our clients combine both: engraved for permanent staff, interchangeable for reinforcements.
Badges matched to your sector
Hotels & restaurants. Engraved metal with a magnet: an elegant result that does not damage uniforms. First name alone or with job title, sometimes with languages spoken.
Healthcare & pharmacies. Legibility first: name, role and title in generous type, on a surface that can be disinfected.
Security & industry. Solid fastening, service or identification number, resistant to impact and weather.
Events & conferences. Window badges, reusable from one edition to the next: only the insert changes.
Retail & services. The badge is often the first introduction: first name legible from two metres, logo cleanly printed.
